Shubbak Festival Returning To London in 2017

After the huge success of the first three editions of the Shubbak festival in London, it has now becoming London’s largest biennial festival of contemporary Arab culture. The festival showcases an array of visual arts, film premieres, theatre, dance literature and architecture from different Arab countries.

Founded in 2011, the festival has grown significantly each year, with the 2015 edition the largest yet drawing in an audience of 50,000. There were works by over 130 artists from 18 different Arab countries culminating in 70 events in more than 40 venues across London.

A Window To The Arabian World

Shubbak (meaning “window” in Arabic) has become a significant moment for the Western world and the Arab world to connect; a moment for new artists to establish themselves outside the Arab world for the first time.

The next festival will take place in summer 2017, watch this space for more information.
