The quest to find the Most Beautiful Object in South Africa (MBOISA) is organised annually by Design Indaba (a platform dedicated to making the word a better place through design concepts). The idea of the competition is to bring to light to major players in the South African design world and engage with the question the meaning of beauty, whether that be through sensual appreciation or through non-tangible abstract ideas.
The winner of MBOISA 2016 was Laduma Ngxokolo whose black and white knitted shawl stole the show. The shawl was designed as part of Ngxokolo’s Autumn/Winter MaXhosa collection.
The former British colony of South Africa was heavily influenced sports-wise. Amongst the popular sports in the country that takes up the southern tip of the continent are football, rugby and cricket. In fact, they fend very well for themselves in all three sports.
